San Francisco punk band. Fiercely anti-establishment
and an incredible live act. Despite splitting
in 1986, The Dead Kennedys have reformed and
are sounding better than ever. A must see
for any true punk fan.

THE
PIGEON DETECTIVES - SOLD
OUT!!! |
|
| Wednesday
28th May 2008 - 6.30pm |
| The
Leeds-based Pigeon Detectives play an exciting
blend of rock'n'roll born out of a love for
classic rock music and the indie rock of the
1990s. 'Perfect fodder for indie fans who
like to jump up and down as if it's 1995,
this band's crunching guitar is simple but
effective' says Camden Evening News, reflecting
quite accurately the Pigeon Detectives' ethos-
to play exciting music to packed out venues.

| Sunday
1st June 2008 - 7pm |
| For
two decades Ministry mainstays Al Jourgensen
and Paul Barker have been stomping down listener's
definitions of meaningless terms 'extreme'
and 'intense'. Their corrosive discography
has earned them acclaim from a wide cross-section
of fans, ranging from aggressive alt-rock
fans, electronic music aficionados, the head
banging cognoscenti, Chicago house music producers
attempting to appropriate their drum samples,
and one William Burroughs.

Formed
after Propagandhi member John K. Samson got
the itch to perform and record again after
taking a sabbatical to write and start a publishing
company, the Winnipeg-based Weakerthans took
Samson's music in a completely different direction.
Propagandhi had been known for powerful, speedy
punk and overtly political lyrics, but the
Weakerthans went down a more melodic and introspective
path. Consisting of Red Fisher drummer Jason
Tait and bassist John Sutton, the Weakerthans
took their name from a line from the film
adaptation of Marguerite Duras' The Lover:
"Go ahead, I'm weaker than you can possibly
imagine." The band prided itself on its
high standards, both as political beings (shying
away from large label or distribution contracts
because of their connection to exploitation)
and in their personal lives (promoting vegetarianism)
and received critical praise for their debut
album, Fallow, which was issued in 1998 on
a co-operative label, G7& Welcoming Records.
With the added presence of guitarist Steve
Carroll, the group's second full-length, Left
and Leaving, was issued in early 2000 and
the Watermark EP followed a year later. By
2003, the band found a deal with Epitaph and
issued Reconstruction Site, their breakthrough
album. Soon after, however, Sutton left the
Weakerthans, only to be replaced with bassist/keyboardist
Greg Smith, and in 2007 the band released
the fourth album in their ten-year tenure,
Reunion Tour.

| Swedish
pint-sized pop star, Robyn brings a different
type of pop music to the table. Writing about
the journey from adolescence into adult life
and the trials and tribulations of being young,
Robyn's songs are classic pop. She is passionate
about her music and her energy and enthusiasm
makes all her live performances something
special. With powerful vocals, strong beats
and interesting lyrics, Robyn is a pop force
not to be underestimated.

The
band began over the summer of 2007 in Portland,
OR prior to the official announcement of the
breakup of The Blood Brothers, but after Pretty
Girls Make Graves played their final show.
The band's sound is similar to that of The
Blood Brothers' avant garde rock, mostly due
to the recognizable voice of Johnny Whitney.
In January 2008, the band announced via Myspace
that they had signed to Matador Records, former
home of Pretty Girls Make Graves.

are an punk band originally from Eltham in
South London. The band have always been outspoken
regarding issues such as anarchism, animal
rights, the anti-war movement and in their
support for the organisation Class War, and
a number of their gigs during the 1980s were
followed by riots and disturbances. The band's
'Mortarhate' logo, originally designed by
'Nihilistic Nobody' is commonly mistaken as
a reference to the initials CND Campaign for
Nuclear Disarmament, but as quoted by drummer
Paco, it is, in fact, a nihlist symbol. It
incorporates two 'A's for anarchy and autonomy,
and an 'N' for nihilism. The logo originally
appeared around 1980 in Thanatos, a small
circulation pamphlet produced by Toxic Graffity
fanzine editor Mike Diboll.

In the 10 years
they’ve been a band, New Found Glory
have sold millions of albums, logged hundreds
of thousands of road miles, and influenced
an entire generation of bands whose sounds
range from emo to pop-punk to hardcore and
beyond. Yet despite the fame, despite the
platinum records, and despite the fact that
their fan base includes bands who’ve
gone platinum multiple times over in their
own genres, New Found Glory remain the same
five friends who started making music because
there was nothing better to do in the Florida
suburbs that spawned them. (back
